Health and education are the primary fields that designate life quality. The level of welfare and education that our country wants to reach can be actualized principally through the good health of the individual, family and society.

Undergraduate education program of Istanbul Arel University Department of Nursing educates its students to become professionals who have the necessary knowledge, skills and advanced understanding for the protection, maintenance and improvement of the health of the individual, family and society besides their treatment, care and rehabilitation in case of diseases.

The undergraduate education program of the Department of Nursing educates its students to become health care professionals who:

• Are devoted to the principles and reforms of Atatürk; respectful to human rights, cultural, professional and social values;
• Have the competence to have a humanist approach and team mentality in the protection, maintenance and improvement of the health of the individual, family and society besides their treatment and care;
• Use contemporary information technology and have at least one foreign language knowledge at a level that’s sufficient to follow and use the knowledge in their field and communicate with their colleagues;
• Have acquired intercultural nursing approach, knowledge and skill through ERASMUS, SOCRATES, LEONARDO da VINCI and FARABI Programs during their undergraduate and postgraduate education.

In the four-years undergraduate education program, the syllabus is in accordance with the medical model. Courses on basic medical sciences and nursing are lectured by qualified and experienced instructors and faculty members. Applied education is provided in equipped laboratories and university hospitals.

NURSING profession has employment opportunities in every field of life and have the least employment shortage compared to other fields.The graduates have employment opportunities particularly in health institutions; in the fields of school health, health insurance, industrial health, health tourism, rehabilitation; and in pharmaceutical companies. They also have the opportunity to have graduate education and specialize in particular fields such as Geriatrics, Dialysis, Diabetes, Intensive Care Nursing and Management.
